Philosophy
Jackie Alpers philosophies are she’s interested with experimenting with some regional culinary influences. She believes that food is another way of symbolizing She also loves the way creating a dish is like a ritual.
Inspiration
Jackie Alpers beliefs are similar to mine. I think that when you create food there is always a message behind it and it is important that you follow the recipe like it is a ritual. She influenced me by the way she sets up her photographs for example. One picture that she took was a fork and like shredded vegetables and the fork is just kind of there to like balance everything out and then shredded vegetables are like all over the place and they add a little bit of crazy but I really like the way she set it up.
Compare and Contrast
My first image is of my mom’s spicy tomatoes and peppers that she likes to put on every single food that she eats. I picked this one because I thought it looked most like Jackie‘s picture with the vegetables in the jar. I also liked the right colors from all of the vegetables. That’s why I took this photo.
This on Is a duplicate of the mug s’mores from Jackie and I took this picture because it’s comfort food and it’s something that I wish it was a thing. S’mores in a mug sounds amazing to me and I just really like the way she shot this photo.
I couldn’t find any Vegetables in my house, so I skinned an apple and made what I like to call apple spaghetti it’s one of my favorite snacks. It looked the most similar to Jackie’s photo.
